Iraq’s Ministry of Electricity announced today that it intends to sign a new contract with Iran regarding gas supplies. In addition, it noted that the connection with Turkey has reached 100%. A government delegation is scheduled to visit Iran to resolve the issue of gas supplies and rates, the ministry’s spokesman, Ahmed Musa, said in a statement.
A meeting between the ministry officials and representatives of the people was held during which the ministry presented its preparations, needs, and plans in place for the prospect of a visit to Iran by the delegation at the beginning of the next week, which could result in a new contract including new commitments between the two parties in regard to prices.
